Boost with Facebook shares how businesses can plan for the Festive Season

Today, Boost by Facebook Philippines reminded business owners and content creators to maximize Facebook’s features to grow their business.

Facebook has changed a lot since I started freelancing from home four years ago. Now that I am running an online store and managing my own website, I rely on social media to bring in the leads. But some small business and content creator are usually busy with their hustles. It’s quite easy to forget about maximizing the full potential of the platform, making it almost impossible to manage the social media marketing side of your business.

Luckily, outsource social media management services could take the bulk of the job for you. I’ve been helping businesses manage their business social media accounts, giving them time to focus on growing their business.

The boot camp has two sessions, a morning and afternoon sessions. Ultimately, I chose the morning session because the afternoon was filled up by the time I saw it on my Newsfeed. I’m not sure exactly how it ended up on my Newsfeed, but after the conference, I realized, “of course, I got targeted from my active ad account”. It’s just a guess, but it made sense. Not everyone would know about these free conferences because the access was quite limited. It’s up to the attendees if they’d be willing to share what they have learned. I braved the Carmageddon in the South for this so you won’t have to. So, yeah! I’m happy to share.

What to expect

The Festive Bootcamp was a three-hour-long conference if you will be staying a bit to get to know the other attendees. In actuality, the bootcamp was just for two hours but packed with information that every business owner needs.

The registration was simple. Line up to register, grab a loot bag from the reception and head straight to the event area.

Before the event started, the attendees head down to the pantry area for refreshments. I got a sugar free milk tea straight from their fridge, but when I couldn’t drink it without a straw, I helped myself with a bottle of Welsh. I was told it’s okay to get it in the fridge directly, so I just did, though I offered to pay for it.

I missed going to an office when I saw the high office ceiling. I want to have that in my own office too, someday.

What I learned in the Festive Bootcamp

Facebook, like any other social media platforms, evolve constantly. There is always a new feature added or a new app developed for business owners and digital marketers. It truly makes the work process more manageable, but it also means that we always have to update ourselves on what’s available. Facebook has a rich data of consumer’s buying behaviour to support the local Holiday campaigns. I will be sharing my full notes with you on my digital agency website, Bright Presence.

Here are a few of my takeaways from attending Boost with Facebook, Festive Bootcamp:
  • Christmas comes early for Filipinos. It means businesses can leverage on the holiday season to fulfil the needs of the market.
  • Facebook, with its different business and ad features, can help companies to connect to their customers.
  • Pages and Messenger is the modern-day Yellow Pages on steroids. Customers rely on it to learn more about the business and its products.
  • Mobiles and computers play an essential role during customer discovery, inquiry and purchase.
  • Businesses, big or small, must take advantage of the different Facebook ad features designed for Mobile-first audience.
  • Instagram has a ton of functions to create animated Stories for running Holiday campaigns
What I took home from the Boost with Facebook free event

Apart from the how-to booklets, which teach the basic functionalities of Facebook and Instagram, I also took home a scented candle and the packed snacks from the event. It has a salad, lasagna, chicken nuggets, and a piece of brownie. I wanted to have it in the event, but traffic was always crazy in Manila so, I went home early to beat the afternoon traffic rush.

My daughter was happy with the lasagna. I’m sure you’ll appreciate a copy of the Facebook and Instagram Festive Bootcamp how-to guide, too.

So, stay tuned for more tips and advice on how to manage your Facebook and Instagram campaigns coming out next week.
