If you were pregnant like me, you know that starting your day with a sumptuous meal is your best bet to having an awesome day. But, since expectant mommas could already feel the weight of the growing life inside, we try to get all the stuff we need in just one spot. And where else to go but to the must-see commercial centre in Hong Kong.
To start our day, we headed to Wired Café in Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, the heart of the retail industry in Hong Kong.
What drove us to the Wired Café
In the colour psychology, orange and yellow increase appetite, no wonder why those two colours alone with a view of the city convinced my preggo belly to take a table. The restaurant has multi-coloured fabric seats with diner-style tables. And to give it a warm rustic ambience, they added chocolate brown leather seats, grey walls with a silver and gold brick accent wall.

What we got
A little bit of everything has always been my personal choice, and when I became pregnant, I tried to take the healthier diet no matter how intense my cravings were. Wired Café has some good star ratings on Yelp, so we thought to eat there for lunch. I asked for a dish that holds portions of calories, some salads, an orange juice, soup and pancakes, which by the way looked nice at that time.
Overall the food was okay, but for me, I thought it was a bit overpriced. The dine-in experience could’ve matched the warm interiors if only the restaurant were able to deliver our orders quickly. I appreciate that there were some interesting things to look out to while I waited for our food.
What we bought
I used to enjoy shopping when I was younger, but priorities change as I got older. But because we were about to become parents, and I was with a shoe enthusiast, I prepared myself to be walking for hours to get nothing else but shoes!
When we went shopping we had no clue whether we were having a girl or boy, so we really couldn’t get anything other than these cute New Balance shoes, and they were perfect!

Ready to shop?
Here are some pointers to keep in mind:
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes
- Avoid bringing heavy bags
- Never overwork yourself and rest when needed
- Drink lots of water and keep some snacks with you
- Try to avoid sugar and salty foods to avoid bloating
- Bring a list of things you need to keep you on track
The food looks amazing! I hope you enjoy your trip, and congratulations on your pregnancy/journey into motherhood!!
Hey, thanks! It’s actually just a throwback blog. But just the same the food was good. 🙂
