I’ve been watching financial news like Market Edge for over a year now. And as much as I enjoy improving my financial literacy, I have to say that knowing a few things about the current state of our economy and job opportunities for Filipinos gives me anxiety. Today, I’m sharing tips on how to earn money in 2022!
Here’s why…
Over 4.5 million Filipinos have lost their jobs because of the pandemic, and foreign investors are allegedly leaving the country for other countries with better COVID-19 plans. Our country kept extending the lockdown while admitting that they no longer have funds to support low-income families. And the list of unfortunate events keeps on growing. The other day after getting groceries, a vendor approached me at the parking lot selling homemade cookies for 150.00. I ended up contributing 50 that day because I don’t carry cash since the pandemic started.
Being in this situation of uncertainty breaks my heart. And it’s probably the reason why I couldn’t get myself to blog without addressing the worsening condition of my fellow Filipinos. I am scared for my country and for everyone desperate to survive this pandemic.

With the knowledge that I have and experience working from home, my goal is to share everything I know about earning an income in 2022—hoping that you can also spread the word and help those close to you.
01 Non-voice online jobs
With most of us cooped up at home, non-voice online jobs would be the best jobs to look for, especially when it matches your skills and willingness to learn. And there is no shortage of options when it comes to non-voice online job opportunities. Let’s begin with the support that business owners need to continue serving their customers. Virtual assistants are like the primary support for everything you need to run a business, from researching, managing online accounts to selecting a new member for a business. They can do data entry tasks, appointment setting, product listing, and a few sales and marketing tasks to sustain a business. If you plan to dive into a virtual assistant’s multi-faceted role, be ready to do a ton of online research because you will be learning a lot of new skills as a virtual assistant.

02 Specialized freelance jobs
You’ll be surprised when you google “specialized freelance jobs” because there are just so many industries that have adopted the online ecosystem to keep up with the times. FlexJobs shares 25 companies that hire remote freelance workers, and their list include professionals from the medical field like School psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Medical directors. You’ll also find professionals in education, insurance, law, and many more who embrace the benefits of freelancing as a professional. FlexJobs reported that 84% of their respondents favor having a flexible schedule as one of the top freelancing benefits. So, it’s no surprise why more and more professionals or specialized professions will embrace this new normal of working.
03 Non-voice online tutoring
This online job opportunity is perfect for those who have superior reading and listening comprehension skills in Standard English but prefer non-voice work. The non-voice online English tutor task is to check and grade ESL students’ written work based on a company’s standardized system. But keep in mind, it is not a simple grammar and proofreading job. You must have a skill in analyzing student’s written work to be successful in this non-voice online job. Earn as much as 30,000.00 per month or more depending on the students you wish to accept in this non-voice online tutoring program.

04 Affiliate Marketing
In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is when a retailer or a business owner shares a portion of earnings to another person known as an affiliate from marketing a product or service if someone makes a purchase. It’s one of the many ways to earn a passive income from the links you share with your friends or your online community. I’m in the process of signing up to relevant affiliate networks because I’ve seen how one can earn passively by advocating for great products and services. However, you should be aware of affiliate marketing’s pros and cons to help manage your expectations in this field. Make sure to follow the best practices in affiliate marketing to avoid spamming people with random affiliate links unrelated to them.
05 Online Chat Support
One of the interesting online jobs I came across was the online chat support for e-commerce and technology business. I’m engrossed by the whole idea of answering tech or product questions from random customers because it’s somewhat similar to what I’ve been doing for my clients and my affiliate marketing work. The only difference is that I’m not getting any extra compensation for every question I’ve answered. It was tempting to apply! But to be successful in this online job, you must know a handful of things about a particular product. There are instances that you won’t be sure about your answer, so having a savvy Google search skill is a must.

06 Online Selling
Unlike the previous money-earning tips, online selling would be the quickest way to make money online, depending on the product you want to sell. If it’s a product in high demand, you will be able to instantly sell the product and collect your income from your customers. But if you are carrying niche and seasonal products, there is a chance that you will be keeping some inventory. Both commoditized and niche products will require you to have some capital to get started. But if funding is something that you don’t have in place, just like me, then start with digital products. If you’re good at designing, maybe you can sell your t-shirt design ideas on Teespring, Merch by Amazon, or RedBubble. You can also create industry-based workbooks and lesson plans on Teachers Pay Teachers if you are a professional teacher. Create a plan on what to sell and how you will be selling online.
07 Dropshipping
Another business opportunity that I’m sharing is dropshipping. Dropshipping is a type of retail business wherein you sell products to customers but do not keep the stock products. It’s perfect for those who have limited space to stock inventory and enough capital to buy wholesale merchandise. This business isn’t new; in fact, many dropshipping companies are ready to help anyone get started with dropshipping like Dropify, Oberlo, and more. But one thing in common is that these companies ask for a sign-up fee between 9,000 to 12,000 and even more in some other product categories. Fortunately, you can also start dropshipping without capital. All you need is to invest your time and effort to research how to run a dropshipping business on your own. If you have the time and energy but no start-up capital insight, DIY dropshipping might be the opportunity for you.
