KICCA, an interactive way to fun and learning

Running out of fun and educational play ideas for your kids this school break?

How about including an interactive play to your usual play routine?

This Summer I took my three-year-old daughter to KICCA, an indoor playground at Festival Mall Alabang, to give her an alternative way to learning while having fun.

She felt like sliding into a cloud-like ball pit.
We enjoy throwing fun balls at each other.

What is KICCA?

KICCA or “kids’ café”, is like a larger than life canvas where kids are made to create and play in their digital world. It has 9 motion-sensitive interactive games to encourage group play among children and adults. For a cost of about three Starbucks grande cups, you get to enjoy an hour of interactive play with your kid.

First Impression

As we entered the playground, we were greeted by a party-size ball pit with a full Motion Slide. My daughter couldn’t resist the excitement, so she jumped right into the ball pit the moment she saw the cloud-like pool of white balls. I thought it was smart to place the ball pit in front of the store. Children along with their adult companions were drawn to watch other people slide into the ball pit and hit the interactive wall with an endless supply of balls.

To see other activities we had to walk through a narrow hallway with neon lighting leading to the rest of the dimly lit play area.

She found treasure!

You’ll see:

A Motion Block to build walls or create an interactive bonfire and pizza

A Motion Floor to randomly hop and pop objects

A Motion Scan to bring your artwork to life

A Motion Face to project yourself in a random way

A Motion Sand to dig your way through hidden treasures

But that’s not all

There were also tiny teepee huts with toys for the smaller guests, so they too could enjoy a play session while the bigger kids play.

A dining or party space was conveniently located inside the interactive playground for hosting parties or quick breaks from hours of play.

You could also host an art session at the playground. Thanks to the long table and a bunch of chairs placed in the middle of the large room.

Are we coming back?

We will consider going back for seasonal events and parties to experience a different take on celebrating special occasions in an interactive playground. I’m also quite intrigued to know how the “Motion Pool” (possible name of the new play area) will work this season.
